DS received BFE today! He had Principal Nom. and had heard from MOC that it was on its way! Incredible journey. This forum has really helped educate my family on this process. Thanks.

Congrats! I just got mine in the mail as well, however I didn't have presidential, I had congressional :)

How long did it take once it was up on his portal? Going on 6 weeks for my DS. He got principle nomination. I have been hearing 4 weeks.

BFE

He heard about Principal Nom. right before Christmas--was told BFE was on its way last week--arrived today. 3-4 weeks from Nom to BFE.

Did the actual congressman call or someone in the office? BTW, what state are you in?

Congrats! I just bundled up at 7 pm in the middle of a major snow storm here in CT to re-check the mailbox that was empty at 5 pm. My twin sons (one of whom is waiting to hear from Navy) are expecting word from multiple schools any day now. Tough times for the mailbox sentry with no mail yesterday due to the holiday and no mail today due to the snow!

In CA--our MOC has an Academy Liaison---all contact with MOC has been through his SA liaison(except the phone call telling him he had earned the Principal Nom)-- she sent my son a text early last week telling him appointment was going in the mail that week.

Nice...

Sportsmom4, Good times, same storm, same state but the mail made it...nothing yet!

DS had his app completed since June, med early Aug and Senators nom on Nov 4. The bottom line for most will be in Feb & March.

All the best...:thumb:

Touched by the snow storm here too (PA)! BFE arrived today for DS. He received nomination letters 1/10 Senator and 1/11 Congressional, and a few days later received a telephone call from the Senator's office stating the Academy confirmed with them his appointment.

Nice! I'm from PA too but I only have a congressional nom. Fingers crossed to find out good news in Feb or March! :shake:

My DS waited till the whole family was home to show us the BFE!!!!! Proudest day of my life. He is from PA.

^^^^^ Congratulations! You certainly have a patient son! I'd have told everyone as soon as they walked through the door!!! :thumb:

woohoo! love seeing these threads...and wow, I can't believe he waited to tell the whole family either...but what a moment!!

I like reading the 2018 appointment thread and seeing all who will be starting an adventure of a lifetime. What an extremely exciting time for everyone, congratulations.

gmemgoch,

What district in PA? I was under the impression PA senators and congresspeople collaborated to spread out nom's. DS has a Congressional, sadly not a principle one. And...congratulations!

Striker,

Here in PA you can get a nomination from both your senator and congressman. I know because it happened to my teacher's son a few years ago (and he had an LOA). While that's good for people like me who do not have an LOA or principle nom, it does sort of take away the "fairness" because people w/ LOA's could get multiple noms when they only need one. And then those extra noms could've gone to someone else. But that's just how it is. Btw I'm district 16

mdn18,
Thanks. My surprise stems from PA MOC's directly telling us that they collaborate to nominate as many as possible, and not cross-nominate...even the republican congressman's liason talks to the democrat senator's people. Best of luck. We're in District 15.
