New mom to this site. Trying to understand terminology and the process. Everyone says their application has been "boarded". If the application is completed, does it automatically have a status of "boarded"? What if the status just says "eligible..."
At what point in the process is the physical (medical) done? Thank you.

If an applicant has completed all the requirements of the application by the deadline then they are "Boarded"

The Physical will happen after an applicant is offered a scholarship.

But he turned everything in on time and I even called Fort Knox to verify. It shows everything has been received except medical (which I now know will come later), but his status still shows "eligible applicant...". Why wouldn't it show boarded? He had it all in before the first board. Has he missed out?

If your kid had a board ready application submitted prior to the last board deadline, his / her application was officially reviewed a few weeks ago and he / she will be considered "boarded". If your kid missed the previous deadline, they will be board ready for the last board in a several weeks.

When did he get his packet totally submitted? The application web site would show everything uploaded and ready. I bet it was just late... not for the actual board date, but for the deadline for packets. That was like two or three weeks prior to the actual board date.

I don't recall the actual date, but I know it was on time for the first board . So if I understand you correctly, even though his status does not say "boarded" on the website, he I still considered boarded? I assume we are looking in the right place. We go to "Army 4 year scholarship status" and put in date of birth and social.

Boarded means that, with the exception of the medical/physical, EVERYTHING has been done and that the file has been scored by the board. Once the file has been scored, it is considered "boarded" and the applicant has been placed on the OML. The medical/physical isn't done until after they've been offered a scholarship and it has been accepted. My understanding of "eligible" is that CC is still waiting on things like official transcripts, official test scores, etc. It also probably means the interview hasn't been conducted yet. Where does your son/daughter stand with their application process?

I just realized I cross-posted with JCleppe.

I'm pretty sure she's logging in on the status site -- with the SSN and birthday. It shows where everything is received and there's no mention of the word "boarded." If you google "Army ROTC scholarship status" that's the site that pops up. It's the one that I stalked last year when we were waiting on word for son #1.

Luvmy,
This is right off the site:

Eligible: This applicant meets minimum eligibility standards for college test scores and GPA, based on self-reported information in the application. However, sufficient documentation has not been received and/or validated by Cadet Command Headquarters to allow the application process to continue. The applicant is eligible if: (1) the SAT total for math and reading is a minimum score of 920; (2) ACT composite score is a minimum of 19; and (3) the end of high school junior year cumulative unweighted GPA is a minimum of 2.5. NOTE: Either SAT or ACT is required, having both is optional.

It looks like something is still missing from your kid's packet. Have your child look at any item they require, but are still waiting on.

I can't recall the actual date, but I know it was prior to the very first board. So if I understand you correctly, his status of "eligible applicant" is the same as what everyone on this site is referring to as "boarded" even though it doesn't say the word "boarded"? Sorry, this has been a daunting process and a lot of unanswered questions and trying to figure it out as we go. Thanks for the help.

If she's logging in to the application portal (using a username & password), it should show Boarded on the Selection Status tab. If she's logging in to the Application Status System (using SSN & DOB), it should show Eligible.

Don't panic - yet

When I logged into the Army ROTC Scholarship Application Status System website:

https://schlr4yr.usarmyrotc.com/scholarshipstatus/cadetstatushome.html

My son's shows the following: "You are currently an active eligible applicant for an Army ROTC Scholarship. If all of the items below have been received then we have everything in order for your file to be reviewed by the Board."

On the other site, that I linked to earlier (the actual application portal) it says "Boarded."

Check both sites before you freak out.

He had his interview and on the status page it shows everything was received. I also talked to Fort Knox and they said they had everything.

I'm sure it's fine. Log in to the actual application portal if the word "boarded" will make you more comfortable. The other site should show everything received except the medical. There's some crazy language about a PMS interview even though it shows that's already received.

Thanks to all for listening and guiding. My DSS went on his AROTC app. today and saw that he was "boarded". We had been checking the other site.
The silence is deafening. Wait wait and wait some more!!! Good luck to all. We should all go out for a drink when this is all over!! ha:shake:
