Today I received my official Congressional nomination letter from Congressman Lowenthal (CA-47) to USAFA, USMMA, and USNA. The problem is I didn't even mention the Naval Academy on my application. Was this a mistake? My district is very competitive and many of the other applicants I talked to before my interview had USNA as their first choice, I don't want to take a nomination slot away from someone that wants to attend USNA. I know that other applicants from less competitive districts receive noms to multiple academies but it's very rare for my district since it's so competitive. ( This post may sound like I'm not grateful, I truly am. But I'm just worried I took a slot from someone that wanted to attend USNA when I didn't even mention it on my application.) Thank you!!

Call the office and ask if it was a mistake.

Now that's a problem I'd like to have! If you are concerned though, I would agree with lillian by advising you to contactng the congressman's office.

Did you apply to USNA? If not, let them know that you didn't even apply. Don't they have 1 more day to get in their completed slate?

It is not uncommon for a MOC to nominate a good candidate to numerous academies...especially if they have more nominations available than they do good candidates!

Be thankful and press ahead!! :thumb:
