For those of us that don't know if we are "3Q" would it be a reasonable assumption to that if we aren't rejected yet that we are 3Q?
 
No. You can get a Naps appointment or Foundation appointment without being 3 Q'd. They may not send you a rejection letter until they decide if you are getting one of those or not.

No one really knows if they are 3Q (unless specifically told you are not) as USNA admissions doesn't release that info (like USMA does). But sometimes no news is good news! If you haven't heard anything yet, be patient -- you are still in the game. And you could be waiting to hear one way or another for another couple of months.
 
The BGO may know but isn't supposed to tell the applicant if he/she is 3Q.

The BGO is NOT ALLOWED to tell the candidate about their Admissions Board status...please don't ask BGOs. If you have questions, call the Admissions Office, but don't expect anything more from them either.
