I do not know regarding the January board, but my DS received the following email this week from AFROTC/HSSP in response to an inquiry about the AFROTC site being down this week and when the results from the December board would be released:

"All I can tell you is that the results of the first board will be released sometime this month [February 2014]. Although congress has signed a budget, there are still budget issues that have to be worked at the organizational level, and that’s what is being done at this time."

Maybe they will combine the results from the first and second boards? Fingers crossed...:cool:
 
Thanks. DS's portal says his file would be reviewed the last week of Jan., and to expects results , mid. Feb.

Sounds like the results from the first two boards will be released at the same time. Good luck to all waiting to hear the news, I know it must be torture waiting, especially since all the other branches have already given out scholarships.

I could be wrong but I think the dates that people are seeing in the portal is dependent on whether they had their apps completed for the first board or not.

My DS was board ready for the first board and his portal still says the board will meet in early December and results would be posted by the end of December. Obviously this did not happen.

I'm thinking the second board was originally scheduled to meet at the end of January with mid February results.

The last update they provided was that results from the first board would not be released in December and would be posted between January and March. Since we are in February I think it is safe to say they will come out sometime this month.

Whether they release just the first board, combine them or something in between I believe is just a guess.

Just my .02 cents....
 
Just my 0.019876 cents, but it would not shock me if both are released at the same time. If the rumor mill is actually based on truth there will be less scholarships offered this year, thus by holding off the release of the Dec. board that can compare the results and make sure that they are on target.
 
DS received a Type 2 four year scholarship! So thankful!!

Thanks! Caveat is that he will need a waiver. Not sure of the process with ROTC.

Coastie,

They will use his DoDMERB exam and start the waiver process. AFROTC will make the final decision regarding the waiver.
