DS was just notified he was awarded a $5,000 Stars and Stripes scholarship. :yllol: .He did not apply for it, it just showed up on his Burser's account. We are in the process of trying to find any info on it. Anybody here familiar with it? Thanks.

Ok, so I have found some information on this. I wanted to pass this on in case anybody on the forum is considering CU Boulder as their school. First off the scholarship is called the Army Stripes Award. This is what CU calls it based on the info on DS burser's account. Other schools may or may not have it or may call it something different. One does not apply for it, it is awarded based on any number of criteria. The award varies in amount. DS said the announcement about who received and the amount was made yesterday after PT. Here is what the website says about it:

This school offers the following additional incentives to students taking Army ROTC :
$50,000 in university discretionary funds for CU. Academic credit for ROTC courses. Four-year scholarship winners receive free room and board incentives their freshmen year for out-of-state students. Similar incentives are available on a case by case basis to in-state scholarship winners and exceptional students
