Hi all,

In talking with another NASS applicant at my school I found out that they had already been accepted. Since we don't live out West and I know that geographic location matters a lot in selection, would the academy want two people from the same place?
I know the process is practically impossible to guess at, but I'm trying to get rid of some nerves and see if there could still be a chance.

Thanks!

They took three from DS's mid-western, major suburban school last year.

DD and 2 of her friends (1 male, 1 female) from the same school went to NASS last summer.

Last year a girl from my son's class in school got in on the very first round of acceptances to NASS. My son did not get in until the second round of NASS acceptances that went out. It made all of us VERY VERY nervous... We actually referred to her as "The Uber Latina"....she had the same ACT but better GPA, Captain of the Xcountry team, Student Body president, Captain of the math team and was a first generation MEXICAN AMERICAN, English as a second language GIRL. To make it worse she was cute, nice and a good friend of my son's.... We were nervous!!!

A Forum-Friend said "dont worry about it, she will not end up at the naval Academy."

He was right.

My son got an LOA about 6 wks after NASS, Regarding "The Uber Latina"......poor girl ended up at Harvard. Bless her heart!

Yes, they will take more than one. In my private school graduating class of 311, we had:

-3 go to West Point
-1 go to USMAPS
-1 go to USCGA
-2 go to USNA from NAPS
-1 go to USNA foundation school

Also, one got an Appointment to USAFA but chose West Point instead.

Hope that sows how many from one school can go to not only Summer Seminar, but also gain Appointments to the Academies.
