Yes, I know my scores are terrible. I am very much a more academic candidate. I am female and have a 35 ACT and tons of extracurriculars. Here is my CFA. Did I pass?

BBall: 38 ft
Flexed Arm Hang: 14.5s
Shuttle Run: 10.63s
Push Ups: 18
Sit Ups: 48
1MR: 8:15

Thanks!

My BB (34) shuttle run (11) and run (8:50?) were worse than yours, however, I would be a bit worried about the sit ups and push ups. I passed, mine, however, I got 90 sit ups and 37 push ups respectively. My flexed arm hang was 17 or so seconds.

Hey, no one here can really tell you if you actually passed or not because they never posted the official passing scores for CFA. But you should definitely try to improve those scores. (please dont take this the wrong way!!) but it really doesnt matter how academically strong you are. if you can't pass the CFA, you won't be admitted. And keep in mind, prep schools are usually for those who fail to meet academic requirements. Considering u got a 35 on the act (congrats!) I dont think you fall into that category. If I may ask, what grade are you in? Also, girls average and guys average scores are posted online. You should at least try to meet those average scores for the girls. average is passing.

I only scored 17 pushups and had a 31 ft. basketball throw and was 3Q'd, so you still have a chance I think. Although I had 90 sit-ups and 2 pull-ups, so I think that might have "evened" it out a bit.

whether you passed or not, you need to improve those scores or you will not do well here.

Definitely working on it

Thank you all for the feedback, and I can assure you, I am getting much more fit over the next couple of months. I know my scores are abysmal and I would absolutely die during Beast, but for right now, I just need to pass the CFA.

what does it say on your portal? if it is green check you passed.

I could tell you an estimate of what the minimum of the CFA events would look like if you were a male... but you are a female, so I cant really tell you if you have passed or not.

Try to look at cfa averages on max scores posted on their website. Google it!

not neccessarily true. It also shows green check as soon as it is submitted by the person who admins the CFA. Then it takes about 3-7 days (sometimes over a month depending on holiday seasons) for West Point to determine if the candidate has passed it or not. If they failed and the academy somehow decided to authorize a CFA-retest, they will let the candidate know on the portal pdf thing.

But if it is passed, then it will show green check and it will also say "ON FILE [insert date here]"

you can also ask the admissions yourself if you are unsure about the test, but only after it is submitted.

Please go to the gym and work out at least every other day, consistently. Thats the only way to survive Beast. I AM DEAD SERIOUS. Your body strength does not suddenly become muscular and amazing over night. You MUST start working out consistently starting now, if you want to survive the military.

also, I wouldnt say your CFA isnt THAT terrible... it just needs improvements, that's all. I am a male, and pretty sure I was just as weak before I started working out since Junior year.

CFA tip: doing 1 pull up for female gives you more points than maxing out the flexed arm hang.

Try to aim for at least 25-35 push ups, 60 sit ups, and 7:30 mile time. With preserverance and persistence and determination, you can do this. I made my goal a reality when I committed myself to train almost everyday at the gym. YOU GOT THIS!

Sorry, but I hope you are a junior right now? cuz it's too late for a CFA retake at this point if you are a senior.

Update: I passed the cfa

I am ecstatic right now--I PASSED THE CFA. And I do plan on rigorous training to prepare for Beast :) My FFR has emailed me and said I have an excellent chance of appointment. SO HAPPY!!

Oh definitely

To be honest, it's still a terrible CFA performance.

And to the second reply, I have been lurking on this forum for quite a while haha :)

What are the minimum scores for males?

'Grats on passing! And nicely done on that 35 ACT.

West Point is looking for triple threat" type people. Academic, leadership, and physically fit. Simply stated - it does not matter that you are good academically and in leadership if you can not meet the minimum physically fitness standards.
As one Cadet told you - you will have a very difficult time if you can not meet these standards.
Work hard to meet and exceed the minimum standards.
Good luck - I hope you are successful/

Not sure on exact numbers because it's a mystery, but once I got 46ft on bball throw and that was the only thing Ive failed (WPoint told me on portal specifically that bball throw was one that I failed). Then I tried against and took a retest. Got barely a 50ft. Then I passed.

So my guess is that bball min was certainly around 49-50ft. Pull up is about 5? push up is something around 30 or so I guess. Shuttle run... meh no more than 11 seconds? Not sure about others... but pretty certain mile time past 8 minute make aint gon' cut it.

yay. So happy for you! but seriously: now that you've passed, you must work out at least 4 times a week. Not kidding. Go lift and do lots of sit ups, push ups, and pull ups. And run.
