Forbes 2014 College Ranking

Oh, that wonderful Forbes list again. Or the RateMyProfessor list...

If two of my schools are in the top 100, does that mean the combined effect is, my "education" is top 10?

Looking at that list and the current price of tuition at my school, plus the 35% admittance rate, I'm glad I graduated back in the 80's.

My alma mater never makes any of these lists. However, while I was in attendance we did make Playboy's Top 10 list of small colleges for per capita alcohol consumption. At the time I was proud to say I had done my part. Not so sure now....

Have you visited your alma mater since you graduated? There may (should) be a plaque somewhere in your "honor". Don't belittle the accomplishments of your mis-spent youth.

Kinnem...

Kinnem, your poor liver. It never had a chance.

Does Forbes put out a list of the top "most overpriced colleges" ??

Sorry Matt.....but I'm thinking ERAU just might move up a spot or 2....

Warning: This opinion comes from the single parent of a Non Scholarship AFROTC Cadet.

All beverages consumed were legal. I have been back there but not in 38 years. I would like to get back sometime soon though so I can walk across town (which tells you how small it is) and meet ClarksonArmy. (Clarkson is #187 on the Forbes list... just to bring things back on topic)

#187...That must be why Clarkson always "kills" it with his posts! LOL

1/4 of the wins, 4x the ranking...not sure how I feel about this.

There are many "Best College" Lists out there.

Is the Forbes "THE" list to go by ?????

That one is easy, you always select the ranking list that paints your cadet's school the highest!

Joking aside, its worth trying to understand their ranking methodology. Usually the academies fare well, but for State U it can make a difference.

Ex: some rankings are primarily based on HS counselor surveys along with hard data. Some are based on self reported information from the colleges.

I'm more concerned with placement rates in specific degrees, program specific rankings, etc for my civvy kid's picks.
