Pre-candidate app question

I filled out my pre-candidate info today, and some information carried over from the summer seminar app. However, one of my ACT test scores were in brackets. Then I updated the scores from the February test, and the brackets were no longer there. Any ideas on what the brackets mean and why they went away? Thank you!

Brackets indicate that your scores were not competitive for an appointment to USAFA or since you're in the pre-candidate phase to become a candidate.

Now, they have been updated and were clearly better, and since USAFA super scores, the brackets were removed since the scores are now competitive.

Thanks! Im glad to know that my scores are some what in the right range!

I don't think competitive is the right word here. I would think qualifying or acceptable would be better choices. Keep working on improving the SAT or ACT scores until the bitter end of the application process.

You bet I will! Thanks kimmen

I only use the words competitive/non competitive because that is what USAFA uses, but I 100% agree with you.

My first ACT's SR score had brackets, and the asterisk at the bottom said that scores with brackets around them were not competitive for admission. They're much better now, but I believe Sarahann was using USAFA's exact words.
