Where are the California appointees?

(With apologies to "fast street" whose earlier thread ("Where are the NY appointees?") I have shamelessly plagiarized herein above...

Fellow Sufferers,

Of our 50 states, California ranks #1 in population. We have a whopping 53 congressional districts. Yet, as of this posting, "USNA Class of 2018 Appointment Thread" lists appointees from only 5 California districts (total of 7 appointees):

32nd
45th (2 appointees)
47th (2 appointees)
48th
49th

The above 5 districts are rather clumped (close to one another).

I'm strong at mathematics; it's obvious that approximately only 8% of USNA's total *offers* of appointment appear on this forum's annual Appointment Thread.

Does anyone on this forum know of Californians who have received offers of appointment from other congressional districts than the paltry 5 listed above?

Best wishes and kindest regards to all.

Dadmiral

I'm in the 30th district and of the three candidates which I know of who received nominations, only one (a recruited athlete who decided on USAFA) has been offered an appointment to USNA. The other two are still waiting for the BFE.

Wompwomp...

We're waiting in CA 25th. DD has sent updated information regarding becoming co-captain of her sport's team. This is my second time becoming a mail-box-stalker. DS is a midshipman class of 2015. It doesn't get easier!

We're in the 23rd district of Ca. DS has already received his appointment. Sorry just haven't added to the thread. Wompwomp where in the SFV are you? I grew up in West Hills.

Please all, post your appointments. It is so helpful to all of us waiting. Thanks and congrats to all who have already heard!

Does anyone know how competitive CA-17 is? It's in Northern California, from what I've heard, Southern California seems to be a more competitive area to obtain a nomination.

Currey; we are in CA 4th district. Have you talked to the USNA Parent club of Greater Sacramento they are an active group of parents with plenty of helpfull advice. We went through the same thing last year and now our DS is a plebe so hang in there and good luck.

I sent a few emails to the contacts for the USNA Parents' Club of Northern California, but have not heard back. Is there another group and how do I get in touch with them?

Congratulations! If your son is accepting the academy nomination you should list him on the appointment strand on the forum.

Hi there, I'm one of the two appointees from the 45th district (there may be more by now, but I'm not sure). I haven't heard from anyone in districts other than those listed above; however, by now I would assume other districts have begun to see offers of appointment.

Connor, have you been posted on the appointment thread? If not, please do so with the same info everyone else lists. DS is darling son and DD is darling daughter (in case you ar new! )

Connor, I see two from CA45 are already posted. Perhaps your parent posted you or maybe you are a third from that district.
