How rare/hard is it to get into to scuba, pathfinder, and ranger school as a USMA cadet? Good Luck to everyone still waiting...this includes myself haha.

Pretty sure the latter 2 are not available to cadets, while dive school (I assume thats what you meant by scuba) is about as common as walking catfish.

The Commandant came and spoke at the local Founders Day Dinner. I believe I remember the following statistics correctly:

During last year's summer training, 10 cadets went to Combat Diver school, 9 passed (one got an inner ear infection and could not finish). 20 cadets went to Special Forces Assessment, all 20 passed. I can't remember the number, but some also went to Sapper school. They all passed and one was the Distinguished Honor Graduate of the class - over active duty officers, ROTC cadets, enlisted, etc. He said the overall pass rate for USMA cadets at Army schools was 96%.

Airborne and Air Assault are much more available for cadets during the summer. As has been noted above, Ranger school is not available until after you graduate, but is then part of the training pipeline for Infantry Officers.

Rumor is dive school will not be available for cadets this year. The number of slots available in the May class in ATRRS seems to confirm this.

Dive, SF, oh my....

The areas the cadets are hand selected.
