What makes a truly great leader?

I guess they were either paid off or believe that there is no more funny stuff going on between the priests and their alter boys.

Note* This post is coming from somebody whose brother was an alter boy, but fortunately because he would play hooky once in a while to go surfing never became a "favorite".

However he did become a Marine before a car accident resulted in vision issues......

March Madness

What kind of a leader are you?

It's March Madness, your team is up by 4 points with 3 seconds left.
One of your players fouls the dude taking the 3 point shot for the other team giving them a chance to tie the game and send it into overtime?
Then your team loses in OT by 2 points.

As team captain, the team leader.....What do you say to the dude who did the fouling????

Anytime! If you want to see some more good books on military matters I recommend the reading list that USMA has on their history website this URL http://www.usma.edu/history/SitePages/Military History.aspx
will give you enough reading for a lifetime! look on the left hand side for the OFFICERS READING GUIDE. I've had my christmas wish-list off this list the last few years and have learned a lot about the military and about what kind of officer I want to be. Another great reading list is at the end of The Unforgiving Minute by Craig M. Mullaney. These lists have guided me well on my path towards the Army, and I hope they continue to.

Lingustinus- DS loved Platoon Leader, thank you so much for the recommendation! Just ordered The Unforgiving Minute. I really want to order other books from the reading guide you posted but I can't access it w/o WP log in. Could you please post the list itself if at all possible? Thanks!!

Not a thing... Instead I tell the team that we win as a team or lose as a team. We had lots of opportunities for the game to never be that close at the end; shot's we missed, steals we could have made, etc. We all own every win enjoyed to get here, and we all own those losses along the way that set us back. We have a lot to be proud of, now go get some hugs from family and friends because you earned them. We'll talk about what comes next tomorrow at practice.

ThunderHawk- thank you!!! I clicked past the login popup and got it! So appreciative :) I'm a little obsessed with book recommendations! DS and I just finished reading through a "100 books to read before you go to college" list...this will keep us busy!

I'm glad he enjoyed it!! Those books on that list are killer and the Unforgiving Minute is a great read! I haven't even really tapped into the West Point list of books to read, so it definitely will take awhile! Anybody else know of any good books on leadership or the Army?

That is a great list! My DH will be less than amused at my latest Amazon order total...I'm blaming you ;)

You can't put a price on education;) I wish I had the money to read all the books on these lists but alas money for housing is whats going to come first (thank you uncle sam for covering tuition:smile:)
