Same district, same appointment time?

One of my classmates that also applied to the Academy got an appointment on Thursday, apparently because the academy sent her information about appointee tours too early. Anyways, we both were nominated by the same congressperson, and I was wondering if all appointments go out to a district at the same time, or if there is no particular order and the admissions board sends appointments by candidate.
I ask for the obvious reason of trying to ward off encroaching despair.

Also, has the text-notification that came about with the portal update worked for anyone? Just curious.

I received an appointment along with one of the students in my class. Also we were both nominated by the same congresswoman. I received my appointment through my senator though since I was double nominated and he received his appointment through our congresswoman. It is possible for two students from the same school to be accepted, just very unlikely.
 
Of the 10 nominations DS's MOC had for class of 2014, 7 received appointments (not sure from which other sources tho). 3 from the same school! It does happen, you are still in the game!
 
DS will be attending with 3 others from his h.s., one a c1c, one a c3c, and the other currently a prepster.

Well it's good to know that multiple appointees from the same HS isn't such an oddity. My concern lies in whether or not a single congressional district receives all of its appointments at once, it would seem they don't.
 
My DS (2016) and a HS classmate were both appointed from the same nominating moc. His classmate found out 2weeks prior via moc call. DS notified via portal update.
 
Just be patient and you'll know when the letter gets to you. Obsessing over the timing and whether or not someone else receiving a letter means you will or won't does no good. Go take a walk or play some video games. What happens will happen.
 
My DD is currently a C4C.. And a Preppy.. There are also a C3C, and C4C all appointed from the same high school.. so yes.. it DOES happen.
