Has anyone heard when if/when there will be another wave of appointments going out? I have contacted a few other people that received a nomination from the same congressman and only one had received an appointment (there are two going out) and the rest of our portals have not been updated. For those of you in the same boat, where are you from and if you wouldn't mind sharing some of your application? Hopefully we all hear good news soon :)

Female from Colorado with a Congressional nomination
ACT: 29 English, 30 Math, 25 science (yikes), 32 reading
GPA: 3.61 unweighted (5 AP, 8 honors classes)... Usafa refigured it but won't tell me what it is now... I'm ranked 80 or so of 500 at competitive school
Other: State ranked equestrian, varsity track, NHS, Girls' State, Secretary of Students United in Politics, orchestra, a load of volunteer work, full time job...

Also, what do you all know about getting into prep or Falcon Scholarships? Thanks again!

Did he apply EA? He has such better stats than I do, confused as to why I was appointed before him

I forgot to mention that my AFA application was completed at my end in August and my ALO turned in our interview in September. So, I qualified for EA and I was deferred to regular March selections.

I had my USNA application completed the end of July! I had my interview on May 25 and had my medical the beginning of July.. Also, I went to CVW last October and was invited for a unofficial visit by the golf coach and went again in February and then I was invited to the USNA dinner for highly competitive candidates (very few were invited to!) Received a nomination by my congressman... All that and I still received a TWE!!!

I or my guidance counselor updated my applications with admissions regularly.

So, AFA throw me a bone!

Just curious, for all those swimmers out there. What events do you swim? and are you considering swimming on the team? Regrettably did not have the time standards that the coaches look for to become a "recruit" until this past weekend so I didn't really get any help there. But I'm definitely looking forward to swimming on the team if I get an appointment though!

No, he did not apply EA. He tried to get it in for EA, but it rained the day of his CFA, not that it would have stopped him but his coach got called away to watch another class and couldn't administer the test. He turned it in about two weeks after the EA deadline. His ALO was also out of town and unable to help him out. He has other options(UC Davis, UC Merced and CSU-Sacramento), but wasn't sure if he wanted to apply for AFROTC. He might try that next depending on the university he chooses to attend.

A good number of people got their appointment offers earlier than intended or in the case of my friend, got their invitation to an appointee tour before the academy actually sent them notification of appointment.

You had me a bit scared. I have no intention of self-elimination, and I'm glad that you meant we found out early. Personally, I thought leadership would(and should) know first and notify me.

No, I don't plan on swimming. I think I'm going to join the cycling team. I enjoy that much more. Chasing the black line gets boring after awhile, ya know? Plus, I'm not even close to fast enough. My event is the 100 breast and I'm only a 1:07
