Worth waiting anymore?

Hey all.

I'm in NH. Still waiting on word from both USNA and and USAFA.

I'm beginning to feel like we're so far along now, at this point there is likely no more chance of an appointment. I know there are three more weeks to go, but hope is kind of dwindling here...

Any chance left for those of us still in the game...?

I understand your pain/anxiety. I received the TWE on March 22nd. I know this is the typical, boring answer, but until April 15th, there is still a chance. I know it sucks waiting. But I see that you have an appointment from USCGA - congrats! Hang in there. :thumb:

Thanks for the words of assurance, mdn18.

I am sorry about the TWE. I keep hearing too many qualified candidates are falling victim to the numbers game, and my heart kind of goes out to you.

But I won't give up the ship!

I suspect there will be a flurry of activity between now and 30 April as candidates close in on their decisions. You know your peers better than I, but USNA undoubtedly has some extra offers out, and there are candidates with offers to more than one SA. Typically there are offers floating around well into May and even June. Best wishes to all of you (and your parents).

Admissions answered a question on its Facebook page, stating that all will know if they are on the wait list by April 15. Do I understand you to be saying, 1964BGO, that those who haven't heard by now are on the wait list, but just don't know it yet? Thank you for sharing any insight you have.

USNA typically indicates they will inform everyone of their status by April 15. Since you apparently haven't gotten the TWE, you are still in the running, I wouldn't try to read more into that. Assuming you are currently in h.s., my basic question would be why the rush to know? It is only the end of March and you most likely haven't graduated from h.s.

Everyone who hasn't yet been informed of their status should also be pursuing their plan 'b' options until they know for sure their status at all of the schools where they applied.

I would suggest you just wait until the academy officially notifies of your status and then decide what you plan to do.

+1 time2

And what is the other option? Either you wait, or what....call USNA and tell them you are done waiting??

We are still waiting right along with you....and working on the other option at the same time.

You can always go for a run too...maybe that would help take your mind off of it! :thumb:

good luck!!

Do you mind sharing your stats?

I also got the TWE last week. My stats are 630M/710V. Eagle Scout, Industrial and Systems Engineering major, college reapplicant, member of AROTC. HS GPA 3.2. I had two nominations, one from each Senator. Reapplying for 2019.

At this moment, no news is good news.

What's the theory behind "no news is good news at this point"? Can you expand on that?

Kayaker: At this time those candidates who have not received an offer to USNA, NAPS, or Foundation, or have not been turned down presumably still are in contention for an offer. On or by April 15 candidates will have their status defined; those who are wait-listed will be told of their status in that regard. To be perfectly candid relatively few will be assigned to the wait list. Best wishes to all who still are waiting for the big brown envelope.

It Ain't Over

There are two Principal Noms in California, including DS and one additional post I read this week, that have not yet received BFE or TWE. That means the Board has not concluded reviewing slates...and with the weather delays this year I'll take a wild guess that more than two slates remain open.

In other words...the game is still on until the Board calls it...

Thanks for all the reassuring words, everyone. I'm happy to see some BGOs hopped on here to give a bit more official insight.

Two weeks left in the game. Still hoping for the best.

Thank you, BGO64. I'm hoping this waiting is merely training for Navy life ... hurry up and wait!
