When traveling home for leave (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.), do cadets have to be in uniform? Also, when at WP, do all cadets wear the same uniforms, or are upperclassmen able to wear civilian clothing? I have seen mixed responses on other posts, and just want to clear it up.

Plebedom....

As a Plebe, yes you do wear your uniform when you travel, it is required. Everyday there is protocol for uniform of the day. And everyone wears the same.

As a Cadet, you have join the United States Army. And required to wear a uniform while on post.

You say "as a plebe..." what about upperclassmen?

upper classmen have greater freedom later in the day or on weekends and during travel. There are still some guidelines however the freedom increases as each class year progresses (i.e. yuk, cow, firstie)

I don't recall the specifics however but your plebe will be well informed

Kind of.

Plebes are required to be in uniform at all times, including when traveling to and from pass/leave. They can change when they get to their destination.

Upperclassmen wear the uniform of the day during the week and when on duty (CCQ, details like ushers for concerts, etc.). After close of business, they can change into cadet casual (USMA polo and khakis) or civilian clothes (only firsties). The same usually applies for walking privileges and OPP's.
