Well before it effects the Academies it will most likely mean less contracts for ROTC cadets, a drastic cut in OCS, and more Traditional ROTC cadets being tasked to the Reserves and National Guard. Speaking in regard to the Army.
 
the FSAs have been mandated to reduce the size of their corps by about 10%, maximum authorized strength in recent years was about 4450 for USMA, USNA and USAFA, now I believe being reduced to around 4100. CGA not affected since they are not part of DOD. Much easier and faster to reduce commissioning slots in ROTC programs, slots will start shrinking though not necessarily at a rapid rate. Per the PMS, Army slots at The Citadel were projected to drop from 110 last year to 92 this year, further reduction likely for next year.
