My son received a 4 year AF ROTC scholarship to an instate school, or a 3 year to an outstate school.
This information was via email, and he electronically accepted the 3 year outstate to the school he had already been working with. I am surprised that we have received nothing via (snail) mail at this point. Is this the normal protocol? It seems kind of unofficial to me. Everything he has done so far has been done electronically. Maybe this is the way of the world now, but it seems very odd. Everyone keeps stressing that you really have to read, read, read the requirements...make sure you KNOW what you are signing up for.
How can he "sign" on the line via the internet? What is he "signing" or agreeing to? Is it because he chose the 3 year instead of the 4? That would mean that the ROTC part would not begin until his sophomore year in college.
Any insight on this?? Much thanks!
