Hey all!
I will be attending NASS Session 1 this summer and was wondering if anyone knows when in the day the exam will be administered, if the 1 mi run will be on an indoor or outdoor track, and when we receive our results? Also, how strict will the proctors be? I've heard from various people that the PT exams we take if appointed are much tougher in terms of strictness on technical things like a perfect 90 degree push-up.

Thanks so much! :) and I hope to see those who will be attending session 1 in Annapolis in two weeks!!

You take it on the second or third day there I remember. We did our mile run on an indoor track and the administration isn't too strict but you can't have bad form and get by without somebody noticing.

my son texted me his scores that day (which were, BTW way higher than the same CFA he took the wk before at USMA)

Gppd luck to you!

Do you know if this will be in the morning or noon? I don't know what weather is like in Annapolis but in California, it has been around 100 every day for the past week and probably over 100 at noon time. I am just afraid that my score will not be at its max because of the crazy heat haha. Thanks!

I believe we had to take it sunday afternoon, so the first full day you are there. You'll be woken up for PT every morning, but on Sunday it's easy in preparation for the CFA later in the day. It's very relaxed, and everybody is pulling for you. It's all inside so don't worry about the temps. The mile is run on a 200 meter track, which will make it seem like you're running faster than you are so push yourself through that. Have fun at NASS! It's a really good time.

I will also be attending NASS (session 2). To anyone who has been in past years, what is the daily PT like? I'm in pretty good shape, as I've been working out in preparation, but what does the morning PT consist of?

I will also be attending on session 1. I was looking to see if there was a Facebook group but I do not see it.

I have been training for the CFT and am doing well except pull ups.

Hey everyone. I'm a mid in the class of '17 and am actually going to be one of the squad leaders for NASS this summer. (Get excited! :thumb:) So this year this is how it's all going down. The CFA will take place on the second day (Sunday I think) and whether you take it in the morning or afternoon depends on what company you are assigned (Alpha through Echo). The test will take place inside at Wesley Brown Field House, which is indoors and very nice. Honestly don't stress about the CFA too much. For me I'm a swimmer so I suck at running and that showed on my CFA and they understood that (though I still wanted to get better for Plebe Summer).

As of the Daily PT, it's not too bad. It consists of group runs, some strength portions (push ups, sit-ups, etc.), and stations some days that involve team work.

Hope this clears up any confusion, good luck, and excited to see y'all this summer.

Thank you so much for this information! It was very helpful and reassuring :)
Also, congratulations on completing Plebe Year!!

How far will these group runs be?

We don't have the specifics on that since squad leaders don't run morning PEP, but from what I remember of NASS and their details that it'll be a "modified version of Plebe Summer Pep" meaning that it won't be as long, I would expect to see runs to be about 1-2 miles.
