I was browsing google trying to find the one video about the Air Force Academy I haven't found and I came across a movie to soon be released called "A year in the blue" I was reading it was previously called "Wings of Honor" and its been in production for a long time. I was reading the video was from 2005? I have no idea why they keep on pushing it back but does anyone know anything about it or when it will be released? Thanks

I'm unable to view the page because I don't have an account. Does it say when the final product is expected to be released?

As of 21 Dec 12:

After a long and we hope undoubtedly worthwhile process, the new film "A Year in the Blue," previously know as Wings of Honor, is ready for distribution and viewing soon. We will be posting any and all updates as more information becomes available.

A Year in the Blue

Hi
It does not say when: After a long and we hope undoubtedly worthwhile process, the new film "A Year in the Blue," previously know as Wings of Honor, is ready for distribution and viewing soon. We will be posting any and all updates as more information becomes available.
Thank you for you patience!

As someone hoping to go to USAFA i cant wait for the film to be released.

We were shown a 20 minute short-version of "A Year in the Blue" during our wing-wide commander's call last week. It follows Squadron 10 of my class (2014) through freshman year, so there were a lot of familiar faces. I was impressed, and it received good reactions from the wing. The full version should be a great USAFA specific follow-up to the discovery channel's "Inside America's Service Academies". I'm excited to see the full version.

Yeahhhh...this thing has been in production since before I went to BCT in 2006! I guess they re-shot the ENTIRE thing after I graduated. Now it's "ready"....soon....
I'm pretty sure they said something like that about a year and a half ago.

I won't hold my breath.

Received ours in the mail yesterday.

Good film

We watched our copy last night. Our son is in the class of 2014, which is the incoming class featured throughout the movie. We were impressed. The film covers a lot of territory (and of course leaves out some other because it's hard to compress 11 months into 105 minutes.) Great photography and seemingly accurate (from a parents distant perspective) depiction of doolie year along with a few brief mentions of other events (100's night, Ring Dance, and jumping in the fountain). If you're an Academy parent or thinking of becoming a cadet, we recommend it.

Received our copy a few days ago and enjoyed the entire film. Highly recommended.:thumb:

I haven't seen a documentary about the academies yet that I can really rave about, but this one does a good job. It hits a lot of the high points, even if it can't really explore the depths of each topic.

Wow...

$31.95 PLUS $9.00 shipping? $40.95 for a DVD? The Webguy fees (&AOG) are about $40 a month also. As long as people are willing to pay we will pay high prices for AOG benefits.

I'm sure the dvd is great, and I'm sure parents will long to see their newly appointed cadets during BCT. I guess it all boils down to how bad we want it.
