Ok let me preface that this is just a rumor that's been mentioned a couple times.

Has anyone heard that the OML and accessions to either Active or Reserve has been changed again for the class of 2015.

The rumor is this;

There will be no clear Active Duty cutoff line, in other words a cadet that has an OML placement that would have sent them Active may still be placed in the Reserves to obtain a universal force strength among both AD and Reserves. So while a cadet A may be higher on the OML then cadet B, Cadet A could still be forced Reserves while cadet B is placed AD.

Again this is just a rumor from a couple battalions and I have not seen or read anything to back it up. Just thought I would see if anyone else has heard about this.

Maybe Clarkson can shed some light on this if he sees this post.

Considering there was no OML released this year, who knows what they're doing. lol

Hadn't heard about such a change, but I'm really not in the accessions business. I shove 'em in the front door. The rest of the cadre are kicking them out the back door.

I would be a little skeptical about this rumor though. There is enough GRFD money out there that the Guard and Reserves are getting some of the best and the brightest through that program. Two of our best graduates this year didn't even have the option of active duty because they accepted GRFD scholarships when money was tight.

This is interesting. Could we be nearing a tipping point where the higher ranking cadets will be more interested in civilian employment and NG/Reserves to fulfill their commitment. Would the Army save money by increasing GRFD funds, driving more candidates to choose Reserves, pay on the front end (tuition, fees) and save on the back end (salary, benefits etc.).
