Can I get into VMI?

I am a girl and a Junior. I live in northern Virginia. I will finish the year with a 3.7 unweighted GPA, and a 4.0 weighted GPA. I have taken all honors/ap's, the hardest classes in my school. I am in JROTC, and will probably be the platoon leader or sergeant next year, I also have the American Legion Scholastic Award. I have played varsity softball since freshman year, and am team captain for my travel team. I have done winter track since freshman year, and started XC this year. I did two years of marching band and being in the top band, I am now in an outside band. I am in National Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, English Honor Society, and Technology Student Association. I am also the Latin Club Treasurer, and have 5 state level latin awards. I also re-founded my school's model un club and am co-president. What are my chances? VMI is my dream school
 
You should get into VMI no problem, the real hard part is getting an ROTC scholarship to VMI.
 
If you type in "Freshman Profile Virginia Military Institute" into most search engines among the top returns will be that of collegedata. The statistics you posted meet or exceed the freshman profile. Try to do an overnight visit. The most important advice, apply early! I know two students who applied, if not officially late, well, exactly on time. Both were waitlisted, and both were ultimately denied, while having test scores that met or exceeded the average. Write your personal statement which demonstates your passion for VMI. Set an interview with the admissions staff. Lastly, have a "Plan B", or indeed some "Plans B-Q", life throws some curveballs. I think the number 1 attribute you possess is your desire to go there.

Make sure that comes across to your Admissions Officer when you do an interview (most likely Major Jessica Hyde) if you have not already done so.

Only item I did not see is an ACT/SAT score. With your grades and activities that score just needs to be solid.

I do agree with the comment that getting a ROTC scholarship to VMI as a SMC is the challenge now what with all the cutbacks.

But, if by chance you attend McLean High School there is a scholarship for/from my BR Andy Burris you should inquire on for NoVA applicants.

I got a 26 on the sat, taking both the sat and act in June. I do not go there
