Does anyone know if AFROTC detachments tend to meet their scholarship quotas directly through prospective cadets? Specifically the detachment at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the University of Memphis? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you're asking here. AFROTC scholarships, unlike Army and Navy, are not tied to a specific school. The AFROTC scholarship is awarded and you are free to attend any school which hosts an AFROTC unit to which you are accepted. Am I missing something in your question?

I agree with kinnem if you are talking about an HSSP. If you are talking about an ICSP, that question can only be answered by the det. However, typically a det. only may have one ICSP, through their unit funds. Additionally, getting an ICSP is very competitive, think type 1 competitive. 31+ ACT best sitting, not super score.

If you accept the det ICSP you must remove your package from the AFROTC HSSP. This becomes tricky since they can offer it in Sept., but meanwhile you do not have an admission to the school at that point. It is not an easy choice because you at that point or placing all of your eggs in one basket either way. Risk getting a lower level scholarship that you can take to any college or risk not getting admitted, but have a scholarship in hand.

In this particular case a 31+ ACT will get admission at either school listed, so this would not be a problem unless you are not sure that you want to attend the school in question.

I think 1 or 2 top cadets earned ICSP's this year at my son's det down from 3-4 in the past- he's a HSSP recipient and the vast majority of contracted cadets there are HSSP as well. Really helps to be Techies too.
