DD has first semester senior schedule with a heavy load of AP classes including the important ones for calc and chemistry. She also has AP English, AP US Govt, and honors Spanish. She also has Theology and a philosophy class. Her counselor remarked "whew, that is quite a load."
She just found out that the school will allow her to take AP US Govt online over the summer, take a test and honor the results and receive credit for the class. She was thinking about doing this and then lightening her load during the school year. She would replace the open spot of AP US Govt with a study hall or art class.
Would this be looked upon unfavorably? Would spreading the work load out by taking the summer class to lighten her school year load be a bad thing because she did not take all of the classes at the same time?
