I have a shoulder held gym duffel bag & also a gym backpack. I was wondering which one would be more suitable to carry on I-Day.

Thank you

DS used a drawstring bag that was only half full. he chose green so it would be easy to spot in a hurry (a tip from someone before him).
It barely had anything in it and was not even half full.
You most likely will get it back, but not for sure.

I plan on bringing a small NRA sling bag. However it is in ACU pattern. Will detailers put me down for Army pattern bag? Haha

Would it be smart to bring the backpack we want to use for the Ac-year? I bought a plain black backpack (Nike Cheyenne 2), and plan on using it after plebe summer. It just sits in the locker or whatever right?

The backpack will be fine. Don't over think this. They will usually sit in a storage room for most of plebe summer. When I was a detailer I let my Plebes get their bags back out before parents weekend and give their parents the stuff they wanted them to take home. Every company is different on what they will let you access, keep, etc. If there is something in your bag you want... ask them to access it.

The bag doesn't matter at all. I brought a gallon-size ziplock for my calculator and civilian shorts/T-shirt. At PPW (when your bag is returned) I gave the clothes to my parents and threw away the bag. Easy clean up.
