All current and former coasties!

I'm a C2C at USAFA (Class of 2016) and I'll be up in New London this fall to spend the semester with y'all! I'll be in Foxtrot Company. I'm very excited to come up there, but I know very very little about the y'all's daily life. I've been reading through all the blogs on the cga.edu website and here, but I'm not finding much. So I'm hoping to get some insider perspective. Would you please answer some of my questions?

What does a typical day look like?
What does your sleep schedule look like?
How difficult are the classes?
What types of military training do you do?
What other duties do you have?
What do y'all do for fun?
How does the privilege system work?
How does the Swab system work?

And anything else would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, and I look forward to being there this fall!

Its very very different from USAFA in some regards. I'll let current cadets fill you in on the way things are run now, but to answer a few questions...

As a 2/c cadet you will have libo on Friday LMO to 2200, Saturday from LMO til Sun at 1900 (assuming you're not on any probationary status.) those are your privileges.

Who knows how the Swab system works anymore. I've heard way too many rumors seeping out of the factory...

CGA doesn't have a good sleep policy. Your doors have to be open and you awake from 0600-1600, which is conveniently when Sports practice starts. I suggest you find and claim your spot in the library. I'll let others tackle the rest.

Personally, I'd be very interested in your own opinion on your questions at the end of the fall semester.

Related to AuxNoob's post:

I'd love to hear what you think after your time at CGA. Pros and cons, what they could do better, what they may already do well.....

Still more sleep than I get now as an ENS

Aint that the truth. I'm guessing not many migrant ops on POLAR STAR. The perfect storm for me my first tour was double 4-8s, and throwing in migrant ops when it was time for some shut eye.

No migrant OPS, but due to a huge crew swap out, only 3 qualified OODs.. And only one HCO...
