My family and I are making our way down to West Point around August 20 and we are going to do the admissions tour. Besides that, is there anything we should do/ see around West Point? Any good places to eat in town?

We visited West Point last Thursday for the admissions overview and guided walking tour with our rising 10th grade son. The overview and tour were very good. There are a few good eating places on the academy grounds, including a restaurant right next door (in Grant Hall) to where the admissions overview is held and the guided tour begins and ends.
Two recommendations:
(1) Take a driving tour of the academy grounds after the guided walking tour to get a great look at the place and the incredible view of the Hudson River.
(2)
Don't leave the academy grounds without gassing up because there aren't any gas stations nearby off-post. The post gas station is located on the far side of the installation near the PX. We had to ask for directions to that area because there were no signs on the academy side of the installation.
