I have neveR seen any discussion of these internships. Do they actually exsist? Are they difficult to get? Do they account for anything on the OML ( if the OML still exsists after this summer).

I don't think they are all created equal as far as demand

My D was given a choice of the Chaplain internship or ctlt. She had applied for the chaplain one but ultimately decided she would get more out of ctlt since she will have a few more years before she has her MDiv anyway

I've seen these too, but have no idea of it's existence. I'd assume they do - at least for the time being, budget cuts and all.

They exist, they count for OML points, it's unfortunate that they are not pushed more.
There is also an Engineer Internship program. Many of my Clarkson Cadets have taken advantage of that program. Spent three weeks managing projects for the Corps of Engineers in various locations (Hawaii, St Louis, Virginia). Had a Cadet do the ASB a few years back, and it seemed to be pretty interesting for her. I think most of the application is online these days, so check with your cadre and apply if you are interested.

Are these internships paid? Are they on AD like CULP and how long are they for? Thanks.

clarkson, the website shows that most of these are for MSIII's.

Is that actually true that most of these internships are given to MSIII's? Or is that just something listed on the website that's no longer true?

They are usually three to four weeks and are similar to a CTLT slot, so they should be filled by an MS III.

I know the chances are probably unlikely, but any idea how much of a chance a non MSIII (ie: MSII) has of getting one?

I'm looking at the guidance for last year's selection process, which is posted on ROTC Blackboard, and it says MS III or MS IV with at least one semester left. Don't think MS IIs are eligible. Get yourself a CULP trip this coming summer and apply for the internship next summer

Bummer, don't have a Blackboard account (although I guess I'll need one to apply for CULP).

Curious - can cadets create a Blackboard account on their own? Or does cadre have to be involved in the process.

DS tried to create Blackboard but could not his MSI year. I believe you have to be contracted and there a few hoops to jump through that need support from Cadet Command.

DS informed me that three cadets have attended internships over the summer, one is in Germany as we speak.

Two were chosen for the, Army Medical Department Internship Program (AMEDDIP) and one he thinks is on the, Forensic Internship Program (FIP).

At Clarkson all enrolled Cadets are given a blackboard account, which is used by the instructor for just about everything. If you are a Cadet you should have an ROTC blackboard account.

Even if you aren't contracted? At least for us, it's contracted only.
