I am a c/o 2019 candidate for the USNA, USAFA, and USMA. I am just beginning my Wisconsin MOC applications. I was wondering if anyone has any past experience with the Wisconsin MOC nomination process, and could offer some advice with regards to interviewing with the offices of Senator Ron Johnson and Senator Tammy Baldwin. Also, does anyone happen to know statistics on how many people applied for Wisconsin MOC nominations last year, how many received them, etc. Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, what Representative District are you located in? I ask because I am seeking nomination for the USNA and USMA and am also a resident of Wisconsin. I'm from the 8th district (Rep. Reid Ribble) by the way.

The best of luck to you with your nomination!

My information is sort of outdated.

My son applied when it was Sen. Kohl and Sen. Feingold. Feingold had individual interviews in Madison only, and Kohl had interviews in several locations including Appleton and Green Bay. Son also applied to Rep. Petri (6th Dist). Coincidently, since son got his nomination my home has been redistricted into the 8th District (Ribble).

Son ended up getting Feingold's nomination. Kohl's staffer called him to let him know that he was giving Kohl's nom to someone else but keeping son on his slate of 10. Petri's office called and said they wouldn't even interview son since he already had a Senatorial nomination. Over the next three months, son's nomination source was changed from Feingold, to Kohl, and then to Petri as the Academy pieced together the cadets from Wisconsin.

Lesson learned, apply to all nomination sources and you never know who you will be eventually charged against. The state is not overly competitive but there are a fair amount of applications. A majority of candidates tend to come from the Milwaukee and Madison areas with a scattering around the rest of the state.

I am in WI-03 (Rep. Ron Kind). I will be pursuing nominations to USNA, USAFA, and possible USMA from both Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Sen. Ron Johnson. I have already met with them at their offices in DC regarding the process. Best of luck to you too!

I moved from inner city Minneapolis to WI-03 a few years ago. A great move with regards to the nomination process! Haha. Should not be nearly as competitive here in WI as it is in MN.
