I've had several requests for this information so I thought I'd post it publicly for anyone interested.
Good Luck!:thumb:

Personal Statement #1
Explain why you are interested in attending the Coast Guard Academy and what you expect to get out of your four years as a Cadet. Articulate other goals you have established for yourself and your efforts to accomplish them. Give at least one example that demonstrates your work ethic and diligence.

(500 word limit)

Personal Statement #2
The Coast Guard Academy's mission is to develop leaders of character. Describe examples of your leadership experience in which you have significantly influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.

(250 word limit)

Personal Statement #3

Describe your experiences facing or witnessing discrimination. Tell us how you responded and what you learned from those experiences and how they have prepared you to contribute to the Coast Guard Academy community.

(250 word limit)

Personal Statement #4

The Coast Guard Academy is seeking future Cadets who have challenged themselves in the classroom and in their communities. Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to address this challenge. Include whether you turned to anyone in facing that challenge, the role that person played, and what you learned about yourself.

(250 word limit)

Essay - Additional Information
Provide any additional information about yourself that you feel we need to know that was not covered earlier in the application.

(500 word limit)

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to bump it because I have a few questions:

1. Can I expect the same essay questions on my application this fall?

2. Will I have to write all four essays? If not, how many essays are required?

3. I see that there is a word limit for each essay - is there a page limit? That is, if I were to write a 500 word essay, is it alright if my essay exceeds a single page just as long as it contains 500 words or less?

4. Are they particular about fonts? Singe-spaced or double-spaced?

Thank you,
David

Yeah same question here, how many essays are required? Do you just do one or what?

The essays as of last year are:
1.) Explain why you are interested in attending the Coast Guard Academy and what you expect to get out of your four years as a Cadet. Articulate other goals you have established for yourself and your efforts to accomplish them. Give at least one example that demonstrates your work ethic and diligence. (Limit 500 words on a single page)

2.)The Coast Guard Academy's mission is to develop leaders of character. Describe examples of your leadership experience from the past three years in which you have significantly influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time. (Limit 250 words on a single page)

3.)Describe your experience facing or witnessing discrimination or unfair treatment. Tell us how you responded, what you learned from those experiences, and how you believe they prepared you to contribute to the Coast Guard Academy community. (Limit 250 words on a single page)

4.)Provide any additional information, including why you believe that you should be tendered an appointment, about yourself that you feel we need to know and that you have not provided elsewhere in your application. (Limit 250 words on a single page)

The only essays required are the first three.

As seen above, there is a single page limit for all of the essays

I don't believe there are any requirements regarding font, but obviously choose one that looks professional. I would recommend using single or 1.5 spaced lines as it may be difficult to fit 500 words on a single page using double-spaced lines.

If you wait for another few days, the application will be open.

The application is currently scheduled to open next week...final review and testing is underway right now. All eligible students [Entry Term = Summer 2015/Class of 2019] in our database will be notified via e-mail when the application is available.
