Is an interview with a USMA field force rep required like it is for AFA and USNA or is it optional?

If its required, is it incumbent upon the applicant to contact their FFR to set this up or is the applicant contacted by the academy rep much like USNA and AFA when their application gets to a certain point?

I contacted mine and they told me that they used the nomination board/interview as the FFR interview as well. I would still go ahead and contact your FFR because it may be different in your state/district. Good luck!

Last year my DS was told it's not required. He did attend SLE and had an interview there; still not sure if that was used for the admissions process.

Interview is not required. Not enough field rep to interview all candidates, so it's not required. However, a good interview can help. In your candidate portal, there should be contact information for your field rep. Contract him or her and request an interview.
