Are stds like gonnarhea and clamidia disqualifying factors for the dodmerb. If admitted, can you be turned down on I day for having stds

What if I was already cleared for Dodmerb because I had not contracted it then, but USNA found I had an STD on I-day during urine testing. Would they just treat me. Or would I be medically DQ'd and sent on my way.

I have to ask this question. If you don't have an STD currently, why the concern? Do you plan on having unprotected sex anytime soon? If you did contract an STD between now and June, are you saying you would not get medically treated for fear of DoDMERB implications?

You will take a urine exam on I Day. They will DQ you and if it means more than 8 days of medical DQ during BCT you will be a medical turn back.
~ There is a reg for BCT regarding how many days you can medically miss and still complete the program. I am pretty positive it is 8 days.

I believe Mabry is saying that if you went to the exam and admitted that you are medically being treated with prescriptions it would be a temporary DQ. Kind of like candidates that have braces. It is a DQ, but once that medical issue is gone they are Q. You cannot show up on I Day with braces. It does not need to meet the requirements for a waiver, closer to meeting a remedial where you submit medical records that you will be good to go.

I am not versed on the transmission timetable. I would pm Mabry or kp2001 for that advice.

JMPO, if you have take the DoDMERB exam and now have been informed you are at risk, go to planned parenthood or your doc for testing.

If it comes back positive, contact DoDMERB and start the medication immediately.

If it comes back negative I see no reason to inform them.

Off topic, and something you probably don't want to read, but I have to say it as parent.

Every time you have sex with someone, you are opening yourself up to every person they had sex with! That is not limited to intercourse!
~ Condoms are not 100% either.

I am not someone that believes kids will be celibate. I just believe kids don't realize that they are vulnerable.
I.E. I think this poster is now saying OH SHEAAT Janie Jones just tested positive for gonororhea and told them I was a partner with 4 other guys. Now, I am in fear!

Honestly, if my assumption is correct I would tell the folks ASAP. You had protected sex, but for whatever reason are concern you may be at risk for an STD.
~ That is not a common fear for anyone in a committed relationship.

I would at least go to Planned Parenthood for testing. However, I do hope you go to the folks and be honest. Your parents were not born yesterday. They were teenagers too. FYI, most of them were during the AIDS epidemic!

Gonorrhea in this day and age is not an OMG!

I don't know of any Academies testing for STD on induction day. Well other than a blood draw for HIV at some point.

Um, Afro, this is now November. Were you planning to hold onto that diagnosis until I-Day in JUNE??? Maybe we should have a small health chat?

Than why the question?

Are you afraid that after the exam you were at risk?

If so get to a DOC ASAP! This should not be about DoDMERB. It should be about your health.

JMPO as a parent, anyone that makes passing the DoDMERB with a STD a priority as a response has lost sight of the bigger issue....medical!

Afro, are you thinking you plan to expose yourself to such a disease?

Again, perhaps you and the fencersmother should have a chat. maybe you missed health class?

And since I am a MOTHER, I have no problems just letting this fly: the easiest way NOT TO GET AN STD is NOT TO HAVE ANY SEX AT ALL.

There. Any questions?

(all out of love, of course)
