Maybe another week until some will start seeing "boarded" change to "winner", get the letter in the mailbox or get their phone calls from their awarded battalion. Just wanted a thread to see when these notifications start arriving and what schools are represented. awarded 4yr vs 3yr / 1st choice school vs ??? Good luck and hang in there!

Thank you for starting this thread. Im looking forward to hearing from all the deserving awardees.

NavyMama,
Thank you for starting this thread. We are right there with you, waiting to hear. My DS is hoping for an Army nursing scholarship. His plan B-D is to go ahead with plan A without the scholarship (college programmer).

Ginko … may I ask what schools your DS applied to. Our DD applied for Nurse Corps too. With the cutbacks so many schools were no longer available. So curious to see what his choices are.

Good luck!

It will be interesting to see how the first round of results look this year. Last year, everyone who was awarded a scholarship from the first board got to choose from their top 3 schools.

Boy do I remember stalking these threads this time last year. My DS was one of the last awarded on April 1st so for some it can be a long tough wait. Good luck to all waiting.. especially the parents, I think it is harder on us than the actual applicants.

My son just received an email from one of his school choices stating that October Board results were in. He told my son that he would be receiving a letter within 10 days and that he "would be very happy with the results." This was from the second choice school on his list which has now become his first choice school since they offer so many ROTC benefits. Pretty exciting, although I will still hold my breath until that letter shows up in the mail!!!

Hi everyone. This is my first post. I just moved from "lurker (learner)" to "new poster." This forum has been such a wealth of information - thank you to all. My son is a senior in high school and has wanted to be an officer in the Army since he was a freshman. His scholarship application was in the first board review, but we are moving along as if he will not get a scholarship at all. He is going to do ROTC even if he doesn't get the scholarship. I keep telling him to just assume that he won't know until April if he is getting a scholarship or not. Good luck to all. And thanks so much for all the great information that is shared here.

VMI82,
My DS has been accepted to his first choice, Stephen F Austin State University in East Texas. He also listed TCU and TAMU Corpus Cristi.

ROO's are not supposed to contact cadets with the scholarship results until the official letter has been sent out. That doesn't mean that some don't wait. Getting an email like the one you received is most likely pretty good news. Applicants status pages will soon start to change. If it goes as it has recently Cadet Command waits to do the status updates until the letters are ready to send, sounds like that may be soon.

Good luck to all of you and remember, this is only the first board. The smallest number of awards are selected from the first board so don't get discouraged if your not selected this time around.

My son's AROTC dashboard just changed to 4 year winner to his first 3 school choices. So excited for him! Hoping good news for everyone else too!

Congratulations to your son. Have a great celebration tonight.

He will soon receive his packet for his Dodmerb Physical, make sure you get any records together if you anticipate any issues.
