Does anyone know if typos on an application for a senatorial nomination will affect how I am viewed as a candidate? Surely, many people make typos on applications, but since this is for an important application, I am panicking.

Correct them. Or is it too late? Proof read your application, have your parents proof read your application and then proof read it again. IMO it would be very easy to discard an application with typos considering the quality and quantity of applicants seeking appointments.

Ok first grab a towel and don't panic! Sorry couldn't help it us old people will get the reference.

But in all seriousness don't panic. Do typo's happen? Yes. Is it the end of it all? No.

Yes you're choosing a path where the drill into you from day one attention to detail but the most important part is how you handle the mistake after it happens.

Are you going to sit there and worry yourself sick or are you going to call the Senator's office and see if there is something you can do? See the difference?

You also have to balance that with is it a huge mistake, like you typed your name wrong. Or a little one like you used the wrong word(i.e. to, too, two) just once.

If it's huge call, if not don't.

Thank you! Your words have calmed me tremendously . There were only three errors in my application that seem minor. I forgot "are" in one answer to a question, and misspelled arrested as "arested" in another answer (I have never been arrested). The third error was that I misspelled academies as "acadiemes" in my essay.

You'll be just fine. When I went back to reread one of the essays I submitted for a nomination, I realized to my extreme embarrassment that I had several typos that I forgot to double check. Two months later, here I am with a nomination from that Congressman! I think the most important part will be your interview!

You'll do great at AF.............couldn't resist.

Seriously, you'll be fine.
