PA Competitive Slate?

Hi!

I've applied to USMA and have received 3 noms. One from my Sen (Casey), one from my Rep (PA-11), and a presidential. Neither of my letters from my MOC's specified whether or not I was the principle nom. But in both letters, they said that USMA admissions will contact me for my next step. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not Sen. Casey or Rep. Barletta were sending in their noms on a competitive slate, or if they were doing principle noms? I would have thought that if I was an alternate or a principal nom, it would have said something in one of my letters.

Thanks ahead of time, and sorry if all of that is confusing!

I was directly informed that Congressman Barletta does name a principal nominee. I was surprised when I was told this so I double checked.

I do not know if he then ranks the alternative nominees.

Congratulations on receiving a nomination from Sen. Casey. That alone is quite an achievement.

Thanks! Congrats on your Barletta Nom! It helps to know that Barletta selects a principle nom, lets me figure out where I stand in the admission process.

Thanks. For what it's worth, I do not believe principal nominations apply to the Merchant Marine Academy. I believe they're only applicable to the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, and the Military Academy.

If and when you call Congressman Barletta's office, ask to speak to his District Director Mr. Joe Gerdes. He is new in the role as of early November but my son and I have found him to be professional, responsive, and very helpful.

On a different note, does anyone know if Senator Bob Casey (PA Senator) ranks his nomination slate? I am very curious as to whether or not his nominations are ranked or are competitive. If so, is there any way I can figure out what rank I am on his slate?

BJ604, I too am curious to see how Sen. Casey submits his nominations. My FFR happens to be on his selection board, so I will email him tonight and ask if he happens to know.

Sorry for the late reply. Sen. Casey nominates a principle nom and then rank orders his alternates. So my guess is that if you've been nominated, but haven't been told whether or not your his principle, then you're probably an alternate in which case you go on the NWL. Best of luck!

For the senator Casey nomination, did you have an interview? Because I have an interview coming up in the next week. If you did have one any info?

Same here tracemc42. My daughter interviews with Casey tomorrow. I was surprised to see noms were handed out when the interviews were not complete.
