Tonight kicks off the college basketball season. Disclaimer: I hate basketball at all levels of the game.

But tonight, I'll have the DVR running. It's the Coast Guard's turn to host the Armed Forces Classic. The hanger at Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen in Puerto Rico has been transformed into a basketball court.

At 7 p.m. ET tonight Louisville (in cool USCG jerseys) will face Minnesota on ESPN.

But the bonus? The Coast Guard Academy will play on that same court at 2 p.m. ET, on ESPN-U.

I'm less interested about the games than the action around them. It's nice to see the Coast Guard featured.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, believe anything LITS says about basketball, especially if he professes ignorance or indifference and then offers to make a friendly bet. He is crazy like a fox.

Beware especially if he offers to accept a handicap. You are being set up. Last year in the SAF Final Four Bracket Challenge he made the ludicrous pick of George Washington University to win the whole thing. When GWU lost in the first round - to the raucous guffaws of the other participants - he meekly bided his time. I need not mention that he came out of nowhere to win the $100,000 prize.

Real men are watching the two-time defending champion UConn women play UC Davis tonite.
 
We may have a problem, you and I, because Pittsburgh sports are sub-par and lacking when compared to the greatness of Philly, especially when you compare Crybaby-Crosby to the Orange & Black.

Well, those weren't the REAL Steelers, of course, that showed up to play the NEW JERSEY JETS last week. They were the Brown's recruiting class.
