Anybody heard any updated info on CULP pay from the 2014 session? Thanks

I know my son still hasn't been paid. Last I heard was when -Bull- posted that it appeared that it had been approved but also said there was no telling how long it might be until the money was dispersed.

^same as above. Still waiting on my pay. It'll be a great day when it actually comes through.

Before taxes, my total came out to a few thousand. My orders were for a much longer period than the average CULP cadet, though.

New rumor my son read, heard or was told this week was CULP pay may be coming December 1st.

Some people are reporting they've already been paid and some have been overpaid. Confirm what you're due. If the Army overpays you, they'll likely deduct from upcoming stipends.

I got an email from the HRT at my school today about CULP pay (perfect timing). She said that we were all overpaid and to expect a deduction, so from the sounds of it it could be for all CULP cadets. We, in this case, referring to all of the CULP cadets at my school, it might not mean every CULP cadet was overpaid.

I went to look at MyPay on the DFAS site to try and see when they might be paying those of us who have not been paid yet. My CULP pay is on there and DFAS says it will be deposited on Dec. 1st, so looks like your son heard a good rumor, k2rider.

To the parents, if your cadets don't have a MyPay account setup yet, it would probably be helpful. They'll be able to access all of their LES statements online and see what has been deposited and what is coming. If they haven't received CULP pay yet, I bet there is a LES on MyPay that has the amount they will be paid and when the check will be deposited just like there was for me.

DS just logged onto his Mypay account and sure enough his check has been sent and will be posted to his account on Monday 12/01.:thumb:

Several of the cadets on my sons CULP trip were posting they got paid and like already mentioned, appeared to have been overpaid. They had a 31 day mission would should be "about" $1100 and a couple received over $2000. I have already warned my son to put anything over $1000 into a saving account just in case the Army comes asking for it.

Thanks for the tip.

I meant to post this the other day, but forgot. I did get paid for CULP on the 1st at midnight, but all of 4 hours later they took all of it back. I was actually underpaid, but at this point I really don't care. I'd just like that $3000 back.

This is the email the head of CULP at Knox sent out about the issue:

CULP Summer 2014 participants,

This message was posted on the Cadet Command Information Management System this morning by the USACC Headquarters G-8. If you have questions, have your ROTC Human Resource Administrator contact the Brigade Cadet Pay technician assigned to your unit.

Due to an error at DFAS-Indianapolis Cadets who participated in 2014-CULP Summer deployments are being paid as active duty E-5 ($72.70 per day) instead of at the ROTC Cadet rate ($33.90 per day) plus other entitlements.
This is causing gross overpayments. Cadets in this group should be prepared for collection actions for any amounts that are overpayments. More information will follow as we learn what corrective action will be taken and how that action will effect Cadets.

Regretfully, this is all we know at this time.

Respectfully,

Just spoke to DS same for him... its good that kids learn early in life, the government givith and taketh away:cool:

hopefully no cadets are bouncing checks because they thought they had enough money in their account to cover holiday spending...

Well looks like I got all of that back just now. Who knows what will happen with it, at this point I'm just ready to be done dealing with cadet pay issues.

I blame all of this on the University of North Georgia.*

*(Sarcasm. They have the contract for CULP)

My son's money was all taken away as well and yes, he did bounce a check. he went to Wells Fargo and explained what happened and they refused to credit back the overcharge fee (or whatever you want to call it). Needless to say, he'll be doing his banking elsewhere in the very near future.

So here is a kick in the shorts... DS CULP pay was taken back like everybody elses BUT the deposit and take back included a portion of his regular monthly stipend. What a cluster!

Same for my DS....and on top of that, I just received a notice from my son's school that the Army ***STILL*** hasn't paid his FALL tuition.
