With Navy Football Service Selections in, http://www.navysports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/112114aaa.html,
the fact that over 50% of the football seniors have chosen Marine Corps Ground is a good omen for Navy's execution of the triple option in the 2014 Army-Navy game. Of course, Army knows just a little bit about ground-pounding itself, so this should be a close one.

My prediction: 24 - 17 NAVY

House Divided Here

I don't care who wins. Both are winners to me. My wife as usual will pack extra food for us on the boats and a cake for each of the four. I'll be working and watching-listening on the monitors and radio. I know I can't stand in the middle but I'll cheer for the underdogs, Army 50 to goose egg - sing second Army!!

Marine Corps Ground

Hey, quick question...50% of the team chose ground branches.

Is that less than 100%?

I predict the most entertaining part of the game is not on the field....

Don't understand the logic.

I am pretty sure more higher % Army football seniors picked "ground" branch than non-ground branch over Navy's number.

Army-navy game...

After last years game. I hoping for a good one. But all the pregame hoopla that goes along with it, the tailgating, the march on, the fly overs. I am going to say Navy by 14. Next season, it just may be different for Navy in joining the American. Also, I think Monken teaching the Cadets, how to win. To those who have and currently defending freedom. I say thanks so much. Without all of you, there would be no Army Navy Game.

Go Navy, Beat Army,

People, I'm Marine Infantry. So I like that so many of the football seniors chose Marine Ground. (As opposed to Surface Warfare. Or Submarines. Or Naval Aviation. Or Medical Corps. Or Intelligence.) Only about 25% of the Brigade service selects for the USMC (Marine Ground and Marine Air combined), so the football number is actually much higher than the Brigade average.

And it was a way of making a lame triple option joke. Here's hoping Navy's offense will not be as lame as my attempts at humor.

Navy by 14+

Based on a theory I've developed over the past four years- Army's likelihood of winning is inversely proportional to the corps expectation that we will win.
examples- Yale, easy win, right? Loss. Boston College, now way! Upset. Air Force, we can do it! Loss.

The hype for Army-Navy has been far and above bigger than anything I saw as a plebe-cow, which unfortunately has swung the corps expectations for victory to the right.

The engineers did snap a several year losing streak tonight though, so maybe that will translate into some good luck on Saturday.
