My Daughter Received LOA to USAFA - now what?

My daughter received a Letter of Assurance from Air Force Academy today. Will the congressional sources for nominations be notified? We cannot contact admissions today as they are closed?

Congrats on DD's LOA.

Nominating sources are not informed she has an LOA. That letter means that should she remain qualified AND secure a nomination, she will receive an appointment.

Receiving a nomination is distinct from the USAFA admissions submission/approval process and generally the two sides of the coin don't talk.

She should be or have already applied to all available nomination sources and as part of her interview with her Senator(s)/MOC she could mention that she has one.

Your DD is in the same place my son is right now.....Welcome to the Big Wait. :wink: His interviews are finished. The MOC's have until January 31 to let the SA's know of a nomination, so it could be a while especially if you are from a very competitive high populated area.
 
Forgot

I forgot to mention that he took a copy of his LOA to give to all the interviewers, and none of them were aware of it until he handed it to them, so BE SURE that your daughter gets a copy to all her nomination sources. I wish you all the best! :smile:
 
Yes, bringing a copy of the letter is always a good idea.

Maybe my observation skills are not very sharp but did you recently get promoted to a mod.??? congrats, I have always found your opinions and information valuable.
