What are my chances of getting a scholarship in January?

I scored a 1250 (CR/math) on the SAT and a 27 on the ACT. My unweighted GPA is a 3.8.

I was a varsity swimmer for two years and lettered once. I played JV lacrosse last year and will letter/play varsity this year. I am in National Honor Society, Beta Club, Junior Civitan, Technology Student Association, and Flood. I was captain of the club lacrosse team I played on. I am a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo and have been doing it for 12 years. I was an instructor for 4 years. My PT scores weren't perfect, but they were above average (except running which was just average).

I worked up to 30 hours per week as a lifeguard this past summer so I am CPR certified.

Am I qualified for the ROTC or NROTC scholarship?

Can't hurt to apply. Only the board knows exactly what they're looking for. Definitely hurry up and get it done though as the deadlines are coming up.

Already applied. Just wondering if I'm likely to hear anything in the January board as opposed to the April one. Thanks!

No one on this board can answer the "when will I hear" question. Sorry. My son didn't get word until March 28th last year after submitting all his paperwork on Labor Day weekend. Was it worth the wait? Yes, but that doesn't mean the wait was easy....

Good luck!

For the army, I heard that the second board meets January 5th, and will send out notifications at the end of January or the beginning of February.
