Any clues when the first big wave of appointments will be going out for non-LOA candidates?

Probably in March, after the application completion deadline. There will undoubtedly be some in February where the slate winners clearly stand out.

I heard from admissions that offers will start being sent February. Whether that's a handful of appointments or the first "big wave" I have no clue.

Last year my DS got the BFE on or about January 16. He did not have an LOE or LOA. Was called by his nominating source a few days before with a heads up that he had been admitted

Wow never heard of one that early without an loa!

Last year my DS received his appointment mid January also but he had an LOE and competitive alternate nom. It showed up in the mail one Saturday with no advance warning or notification.

My son also received his nomination the middle of January almost exactly a year ago . He had an LOE.

This is the message I received on the portal from my regional admissions guy.

We have received all your application information and the Admissions Committee
has qualified your file. West Point has eliminated rolling admissions for this cycle. As
such, all qualified applicants are placed on a National Waiting List until appointments
are made. Most appointments will be tendered between 26 February and 1 May 2015.

You have demonstrated strong initiative and diligence in completing your file.
Although qualified, you are still competing for admission and should continue to update
your record with significant achievements in academic, leadership, and extracurricular
and athletic activities. Do not forget to include standardized test scores or updated
transcripts from your most recently completed academic semester. We will continue to
add achievements to your file through the end of February 2015.

Although most offers of admission will be tendered before 1 May 2015, final
selection from the waiting list may be made only a few days before the class enters.

Thank you for your continuing interest in West Point. Go Army!

ironcloud9 - Good update! I wonder if the 7th semester transcript triggered that response from USMA.

Larry321- I got it on December 30th so I think it was my dodmerb results finally going through after getting my remedial taken care of. I sent in my transcripts last Monday, but they still haven't been confirmed yet. I would expect things to be slow this time of year because of all of the things being sent in right now to try and beat the deadline.

Ironcloud9, my son got this same letter. It is the 3Q letter. In my son's the 2nd sentence after "qualified" it said academically, medically, physically. Everything else was identical to your letter.

I received the same letter as well.

All is done and submitted. Now's the time to buckle down, play your spring sport and watch the the Packers win the Superbowl.

On you portal it will state LOE.

ironcloud9, Then you are 3Q'd. An LOE gives the Academy the option of inviting a prospective to an overnight visit of a candidate that they believe. keyword believe they will offer an appointment. There have been a large portion of Cadets who have received Appointment without and LOA or LOE. Keep charging ahead and have plan B and cover all of the bases. I know it is very nerve wracking the WAIT! I hope it will be worth it for you! Best of Luck!
