Today was the last flight for the OH-58 Kiowas in Hawaii for the 2-6 Cav. 18 Kiowas flew in formation around Oahu for the last time. The 2-6 Cav will now head to Korea for 9 months, while away the OH-58's will be sent off island to parts unknown.

Have a great photo but have no idea how to post it.

Great respect and a thank you to all those in the 2-6, best of luck to you all.

Best wishes for an uneventful mission and a safe return. Let's get to work on that photo, huh?

Ha. Sad to hear. My two best buddies went to 2-6 after we all left 3-17. Another Squadron gone. The old KW is slowly slipping into history.

Actually, I am good friends with your son's S3, now that I think of it.

Here's a picture of the Last 2-6 Cav flight around Oahu, I bet that was something to see.

Just noticed I should have posted this under Academy News instead of this thread, maybe our new Mod can move it.

Unfortunately I'm not authorized to do that for this forum. ROTC is my bailiwick. Not sure which one of us is responsible for this one.

BTW great photo. Thanks for posting it. I'm impressed by your SAF acumen!

Jcleppe, Best Wishes to your son and a successful and safe mission!

Great Picture!!

Can only imagine how long that pre-flight brief was with that many aircraft in the air.

She had a good run. I haven't flown her in years, but we made an awful lot of mayhem with those worn out old buckets. Blurry sights, cracked transverse beams, and all. An unheralded by reliable old dame is being put to rest. It's fitting to see this, in a way, since the aircraft came into being for an overwater mission.

I hope good things come down the pipe for him.

Looks like Ft. Campbell just had their farewell flight. How quick the dominoes fall.
