Hi, I am very new to this forum so don't get angry with me for such a newb post. I turned in my application to NASS the day that it came out. I was just wondering if anyone else had received their acceptance. If you have please post saying if you have got in or not. I know it is really early to be getting too excited but the suspense is killing me. Thank you everyone on this forum, I have learned so much.

Last year NASS acceptances came out in mid-February.

It says on the USNA website - "....Students will be notified of their status by April 15 of the application year (all sessions are held in June)." In reality it's a bit like rolling admissions at USNA - candidates hear as soon as a few weeks after submission or as late as April 15. The waiting and uncertainty is never easy but, for what it's worth, it's good practice for the USNA admissions process!

My DS applied late for 2013 NASS - his app wasn't done until late Feb. However, he had the good fortune to be invited to session 3 and got an email from USNA the second week of March. Just an example that hopefully gives some comfort. There's always a chance until April 15!! Good luck.

Please be patient; this is a very busy time at Admissions as it is just starting to select appointees to 2019, and the STEM and NASS applications are pouring in. Under the best of circumstances it will take at least a couple of weeks for the top qualified applicants, and maybe a month or so for most of the rest to be scored. This is not unusual; ie, it happens every year. Best wishes to all applicants, but be aware also that not being selected for NASS or STEM is not a complete downer. Consider that while USNA class size typically is around 1200 and about 2500 prospects will participate in NASS, so there will be at least 1300 NASS participants who will not become members of USNA 2020. You might want to look at other programs that give you a few days in the Yard (campus); check <www.navysports.com> for the schedule of sports camps, and talk to your counselor in Admissions/Candidate Guidance about participating in a Candidate Visit.

I know the suspense is going to get very nerve wrecking, but this is only the beginning! Soon, you will be applying for colleges and scholarships as a senior and the suspense and anxiety will creep back. Take it personally from me and try your best to be patient :). I know it's hypocritical of me to say because there have been times when I will not stop checking portals for updates, but there's not much you can do now. Relax and wait it out, it'll come soon!

I applied to NASS and submitted my application the first week the app was released. I received an acceptance on February 25th, 2014. It was rolling admissions. Hang on tight and good luck!
