Appointment process questions

I recently got a call from my congressman congratulating me on my appointment to the USNA. This was on 1/30. I was wondering what order the letters, portal updates, etc come in?
As in, if I was appointed on 1/30, when should I expect to see an update on my portal, and more importantly, when should I expect a BFE? Thanks!

USNA usually allows MOC's and other nominators at least a week to make any announcements they wish before the offer of appointment starts going into the portal, the BGO roster, etc. It's a courtesy thing.

Congrats, your portal doesn't update and you should get your BFE in the mail in a week or two, snail mail permitting of course.

What if 2/3 of your MOC who are your nom sources aren't even in those roles anymore? One of my son's MOCs was not re-elected and one is now in a different position (Lt. Gov). Would he get a call then?

You may not get a call. I didn't -- my nominating MOC was voted out of office and the new MOC didn't call. MOCs get about a week to contact candidates. Regardless of whether they do or don't, the BFE is mailed a week later. So it won't delay the process, only how soon in the process you get the word.
