How often do the admissions boards meet? Do denials to the academy go out just like appointments? Or the longer you wait the more likely you are not to receive an appointment?

TWE's tend to go out all at once towards the end of the admissions cycle. I got mine last year in late March. I believe that the admissions board meets once a week on Thursdays but I may be mistaken.

I got my first rejection letter February 28th, the second was about mid March. Hope that helps.

My DS got his TWE in mid to late April last year.

I got a waitlist letter around the end of March. My TWE came May 23.
