I received an appointment last week and am very excited! But I was wondering if West Point would offer a time when I could visit West Point. The only reason I ask is I know my brother spent a night with a cadet after he received his appointment in 2008. Thanks.

If you do a search on USMA website for "Overnight Visit" you will get to a page where you have the ability to register for a date via the website. It is activated for appointees to schedule the visit now. My DS just scheduled one online yesterday.

Getting ready to schedule overnight for dd. She will need to fly in from midwest. Looking at flights into Newburgh , Albany and NYC . Any advice?

You may want to look at the price for flights before scheduling the date at West Point. Some days of the week are definitely less expensive than others. Will she be flying by herself or will one of you be accompanying her? I looked at flights to all locations, but because we are out west, were limited based upon arrival/departure times to try to avoid another overnight stay. We looked at options where we would need to use a shuttle, rental car, etc. For us, price-wise, flight schedule time and convenience, it worked out better to fly into NYC and get a rental car, but DH will be along on the trip.

Look into White Plains/Westchester County (HPN) also. Depending on your departure city, you may be able to get a flight on Delta or American. It is an easy drive to WP, and closer than EWR/LGA/JFK. Like Stewart/Newburgh (SWF), it is smaller and will have less options than NYC airports (and likely a connecting flight somewhere), but it's very convenient.

We flew into Newburgh from the Midwest last year and it was no problem. We had a change of planes in Pennsylvania (Philadelphia I think) and it was a prop plane to Newburgh. It is a small airport which is nice for getting in/out. We rented a car and I think it was about a 30 minute ride to USMA.
