So with people finding out the status of their appointment's daily, I took to wondering on when people normally find out. I did this because I was worried on not having heard anything yet(like most) as well as to help the people like me anxiously awaiting that email or phone call. So what I did was get the info from the appointment threads of the last two years and put those into a chart. This accounts for only about 11% of both classes total, but it should give a good indication as to when you will in fact find out. Essentially what I found was that ~67% of appointments won't be made until after March 1st. So hang in there fellow candidates and congrats to all those appointed already.

Note: This info may be off especially with EAs now among other things

Thank you so much this is one of the most reassuring items I have seen on this Forum! It makes me feel a lot better about not hearing anything yet.

Nice job! It looks about right to me as far as the statistics, but even if it is a tiny bit off, it doesn't detract from your impressive PowerPoint skills! :shake:

It stinks waiting that long because it impacts so many other things. My DS is a top 5 finalist for the Eli Lily Scholarship which pays for your college at any college or university in Indiana. He interviews next week and will tell them that the USAFA is his first choice and that Ball State and Purdue, to which he has been accepted, are second and third. It will hurt his chance at the Lily and if he doesn't get into the Academy, his $18,000 presidential scholarship from Ball will only cover part of his room and board. The Lily makes their choice by March 31 so maybe we will know before then.

I might suggest to my child, in that situation, to state that his number 1 is "either Ball State or USAFA, depending on the outcome of this interview and appointment status." Which is still an accurate and true statement.
OR
Since it is a scholarship for only Indiana schools, state "my #1 Indiana School is Ball State, and Purdue is second."As USAFA isn't a player in the Lily Scholarship.

He is going to talk to his guidance counselor to see what she recommends but I will definitely give him your suggestions too! Thank you.
