Say I were to commission as an Army Reserve MI officer. What could I expect in terms of (a) locations where I could serve as a home base, (b) availability to attend graduate school, and (c) my deployment schedule. Is it correct that one would be deployed only after five years?

A) Depends on where there are open MI LT positions.

B) Outside of your Reserve commitment, you're free to do as you please. It could be tricky initially since you'll have to attend BOLC and get situated, but it will be an option for you. If you're asking about the Reserves paying for grad school, that's an entirely different beast.

C) You're final question is incorrect. Deployment schedule is a tough question because none of us know your unit or its deployment cycle. I don't know if or where you are in the ROTC program, but it would also partially depend on what's going on in the world when you get to your unit.
