Has anyone else noticed the lack of updates to the appointment list this week especially today?

Seems like a lot of portals update on Fridays. I realize this is not always the case. Wonder if no one that received an appointment this week is on the forums or if they had a slow week?
 
I noticed the lack of new appointments as well. Perhaps they are gearing up to release a lot next week. :D

I think the reason why so many appointments show up on Friday has to do with the fact that the admissions board meets every Thursday (someone correct me on this if I am wrong). That doesn't explain why there were no appointments today, though. Who knows--maybe they took an early spring break. ;)
 
Very funny, and very true! I agree seems most appointments are received on Friday. I think I read previously that the panel meets on Wednesdays, but not sure if I am correct. Very quiet week for appointments, maybe they have busy reviewing applications!
 
I am just throwing in a bone here, I Heard that our appointee kits are gunna start coming out March 1 so maybe since those are personalized and take a lot of work, maybe they slowed don't a bit to work on that.
 
I meant to say maybe they slowed down on appointments to work on the kits. Just adding another theory. I know the appointment shows on the portal and I am so glad because that was way better than waiting on a letter! I am anxious to get my kit.
 
Hmmm Spring Break.... Hadn't considered that possibility! I guess since we all got those calendars that caused so much angst for many of us, I should go check their SB dates.
 
Adding to the conspiracy theory pot, haha, I spend a lot out of time when I'm not prepping for USAFA so I am always in the forums. I'm a quizzical bug so I love learning from the great people on here!
 
If you look historically the next two weeks will be dry. Maybe a few here and there. Expect a huge wave the second week of March if all holds true. Probably the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th will be big days. Sorry I spend too much time trying to figure out when I'll hear personally. As stated by the quote below mostly everyone should know by mid-April.

"We are in the regular selections cycle now. Notifications go out between 30-45 days. Notifications for acceptance to the Air Force Academy will go out no later than mid-April."- From the official USAFA admissions Facebook page Wednesday
 
The National Character and Leadership Symposium took place this week at the Air Force Academy. It's likely that many of the admissions board members were busy with distinguished visitors and other delegates.

Thanks for that information! I guess because my world is so wrapped up in the waiting for an email and a portal update, I forget that they might have something to do besides making admission decisions.
 
I noticed the lack of appointments last week too! I am glad I'm not the only one who is freaking out over little things like this! Hang in there guys! We'll all get through this! I am praying for each and every one of my fellow candidates waiting to hear!
I am SOOOO excited it's finally March! I hope beyond hope we'll all receive some good news this month!
 
Also, the summer seminar notices are due to come out next week. Perhaps they are busy with that. All the analysis will drive you crazy. Go outside and have some fun! The portal will still be here when you come back.
 
I would love to go outside, but sadly we are gearing up for 6 more inches of snow! I am so sick of this white stuff.

I finally convinced my DS and rest of the family that we should go somewhere for Spring Break. DS is still in the game for USNA and USMA. I told him I wasn't sitting at home stalking the mailman for Spring Break after the initial shock of my statement he agreed!

He didn't want to go on a cruise though because of the lack of consistent internet service. Really hoping he gets an appointment to one of the academies before we leave so we can have a celebration at Disney World!

Hoping and praying everyone gets great news soon!
 
Another week without appointments posted here. I know last week they posted they have begun the regular selection cycle. I thought for sure we would have seen some appointments this week. I guess I will continue to stalk the forums.......

I am hoping Hodge was right as he/she had so adeptly noticed a trend from thr past that the last two weeks have been historically slow and all the portals should start updating soon! I have noticed on both USNA and USMA forums there has been a slow down of appointments there too, however I have also noticed more people posting there they have received their TWE's....or bad news. I have not seen anyone post they got a turn down letter from USAFA. It remains a mystery and always will. Just not very patient in waiting! Guess I am working on that.
 
The lovely calendar the USAFA sent in January lists their spring break beginning March 20 -- I figure there will be a large dump of information prior to that date. Then they will all go off on vacation while we deal with the aftermath!
